    Click the link below to learn about our resident amphibian!Amphibians are special animals with amazing adaptations.  They have two different life stages consisting of an aquatic larval stage that includes external gills for breathing. The larval form often looks nothing like the adult form.  Metamorphosis occurs and the larvae develop lungs in place of the external gills allowing them to breathe out of the water as they undergo the transformation to the adult form.
