Hello! My name is Renee and I am excited to be the new addition to Blandford’s Outdoor Education Staff. My excitement for the environment and surrounding nature started at a young age. Born and raised in the city of Detroit. I was home-schooled up until tenth grade. My mother often took me and my siblings to many programs given by naturalists at nearby U of M-Dearborn and we learned about frogs, bats, trees, gardens, and making maple syrup. These programs and hikes quickly became highlights of my childhood education. I started at Blandford as an intern through Aquinas College in January 2011 as an Ecology Education Intern. I quickly realized that this was my way of helping urban children get the same wonderful hand-on experiences that was given to me. I am excited to share the knowledge I have gained with young and curious minds.
