    Southern Utah National Parks   

    Red Rock Wilderness of southern Utah holds spectacular scenery and fabulous natural history. Parks of the Colorado Plateau’s fascination and the beautiful natural wonders will be projected.

    Enjoy an invigorating snowshoe hike through Blandford's beautiful trails led by our Ecology Education Coordinator, Kristin.
    $6 admission includes snowshoe rental and educational hike; if you'd like to bring your own snowshoes, the cost is $3. Snowshoes come in all sizes, but the suggested minimum age range is kindergarten.
    Thank you to the Wittenbach/Wege Center for providing the snowshoes for this event!

    The four major chapters in the geological "book of Michigan" are written in layers of rock and sediments that we live on and travel over every day. From theviolent volcanic beginnings to the more recent crushing Ice Age, the stories in the rocks help us to understand what makes Michigan tick today.
    This geologic travelogue will touch old fmailiar landmarks with a new dimension.

    Butterfly Flutterby Wonders   

    Natural history of butterflies includes life cycle, habits, habitats, survival techniques, role in nature's scheme, butterfly gardening, and significance for humans.

    Saturdays throughout March, come experience Blandford's popular maple syrup-making festival! Learn about traditional and contemporary means of maple syrup making! From tapping to bottling to sampling this all-natural treat, Blandford's Sugarbush Festival is an exciting time to get in touch with the natural world. Guided tours through the Blandford Sugarbush Trail leave regularly throughout the day.

    Come join us in enjoying the freshly tapped and bottled maple syrup made right here at Blandford! We’ll be hosting the pancake breakfast at CA Frost, right next door, then hosting more festivities at Blandford. Take a walk through the Sugarbush trail to learn more about the process and visit our historical buildings. Breakfast runs from 8am to noon; Festival runs from 9am to 4pm.

    Wildflowers      

    Wildflower natural history includes biological and ecological adaptations for survival in habitats. Colorful pictures show plant parts with little known secrets for survival.
