Jackie Wiers
Wildlife Education Assistant
Hello all! My name is Jackie Wiers and I’m one of the
wildlife staff here at Blandford. I grew up in northwest Michigan
and moved to the Grand Rapids area
about 7 years ago to attend college. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Animal
Biology from Grand Valley
State University
and have been trained as a wildlife rehabilitator through the International
Wildlife Rehabilitation Council. I also have the experience of working as
a veterinary assistant at an animal hospital. I started at Blandford as
an intern in the Wildlife Education
Center in September of 2006, and
joined the staff in March of 2007. I have always been passionate about nature
and wildlife and it is very rewarding to be able to rehabilitate and care for
the injured wildlife we have here at Blandford. I also love being able to
share them with the community through our programs and use them to help educate
others about our local wildlife.
