I am a native of Grand Rapids and I love exploring the waters and many secret places of Michigan. I have traveled to many beautiful places in the world, but still find Michigan the place for me. I am excited to be a part of the Blandford Nature Center team. For me, Blandford represents the beauty and natural diversity that Michigan has to offer. I was the Blandford Youth Farm team coordinator for the 2009 season and loved every minute. We spent the summer with our faces to the sun and our hands in the dirt learning about such things as compost tea, solar ovens, organic pest management, and much more. I am currently an Outdoor Education Instructor and I am excited to share my enthusiasm about the outdoors. This is a perfect job for a nature addict like me. I am able to spend the day outside sharing my passion about environmental issues and encouraging young people to make sustainable choices. When I am not enjoying my time at Blandford, you will find me spending time with my husband and five-year-old son. We enjoy playing music, cooking food from our garden, hiking, camping, and exploring the remote regions of Michigan.
