Join ANFT certified forest therapy guide, Katie Venechuk, to explore the relaxing practice of guided Shinrin-yoku beneath the October full moon at Blandford Nature Center (BNC)! This program begins with a brief introduction to the background and research of Shinrin-yoku (translated in English as “forest bathing”), how it differs from a hike in the woods, and why it’s internationally recognized as an effective tool for natural stress relief. From there, you’ll be led in a full length (three hour long) Shinrin-yoku experience in the Blandford forest, stepping away from the busyness of day-to-day life for time in nature as the sun sets and the full moon rises. This experience includes a guided meditation, prompts for nature exploration and more – helping you to slow down, notice new details in the world around you and build deep memories of your time outside. We’ll end with a candlelit wild foraged tea ceremony in the woods, offering you a chance to sip a nutritious tea, enjoy a snack, visit with community, and ask our guide questions.
