Blacksmith 101

How does a Blacksmith use fire, metal, and a hammer to create a work of art? Join an experienced blacksmith to learn a few tricks of the trade in this introductory class. Topics to be covered include: forge safety, tools, fire building and maintaining, and an opportunity to work on a first project. No experience necessary! This program is for ages 18 and up. Blandford Nature Center will provide safety equipment including gloves and ear and eye protection.

Member: $100
Non-Member: $120

This program is only for ages 18 and up.

Please Note: This program will be held indoors. All participants will be required to wear masks regardless of vaccination status.

Covid-19 Information: As of August 23, 2021, in accordance with CDC recommendations, Blandford Nature Center requires all staff, visitors, and program participants ages 2 and up to wear masks while inside all buildings regardless of vaccination status. Masks are also required indoors and outdoors for all guests participating in a mixed-age community program where attendees are from multiple households. If you or someone you are registering for a program cannot medically tolerate a mask, you must contact our Program Manager prior to booking a program.
