Family Botanical Ink Making with Gabrielle Eisma
Join us for a day of make and play with botanical inks! Gabrielle Eisma is a children’s book illustrator, designer, and natural ink-maker – and she can’t wait to share a few tips of the trade with you and your family! Bring your young artists and scientists (ages five and above), your sense of wonder at the colors of nature, and let’s get messy! You’ll take home a detailed color chart from the process, a packet on how to start your own natural inks at home, and one ink bottled from the class for each registrant.
This program is for families with children between ages 5 and 12. Registered children must be accompanied by a registered adult.
Pre-registration is required to attend this program. Online registration closes at 12pm on Thursday, September 7th, unless it is sold out first. If the program is sold out, please complete the online registration to be added to the waitlist. You will not be charged to be added to the waitlist. If you have further questions, please email Camilla Voelker at camilla@blandfordnaturecenter.org.
About the Instructor: Gabrielle is an illustrator for (mostly) children, a fine artist, and a botanical ink maker. She lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where she spends the spring, summer, and fall foraging for natural pigments outside with her dog and anyone else that she can convince to hike alongside her—most of the time that person being her dad. In the winter, she looks forward to doing it all over again. Gabrielle forages, boils, and bottles her own small-batch inks from botanical and natural sources around her.
