FULL | Composting at Home with Wormies (F)

Join Wormies Vermicompost staff as they share everything you need to know to begin composting at home. After setting the stage with the basics of composting, composting with worms, and why composting is important, they’ll highlight what is considered acceptable scraps, how to maintain your compost, when and how to harvest your compost and how to best use it. Get your hands dirty learning how to set up your own worm bin and garden compost pile.
Compost Giveaway: The first 10 folks who check in on the day of the class will receive a 5 gallon bag of vermicompost from Wormies! There will be additional bags of compost for sale at the program for anyone interested in making a purchase outside of the giveaway. This class and the compost giveaway are made possible by grant funding from Amway.
Program is for adults and kids ages 10 and up with adult supervision.

Your program will be taking place at Blandford Farm, located at 3145 Milo Street NW, Grand Rapids MI 49504. Please note there are NO BATHROOMS AT THE FARM from November to March and only port-a-potties available from April to October. The nearest full-service bathrooms are at the Blandford Visitor Center, a 10-15 minute walk or 2 minute drive away.
This program will take place outdoors. In the event of inclement weather, this program may move indoors.

Cancellation Policy: Notices received at least 7 days before the scheduled program are eligible to receive a 50% refund. Due to processing fees, full refunds are not available. Cancellations within 7 days of a program are not eligible for a refund. Please come prepared for the elements as refunds are not available for weather-related conditions except in the case of severe weather. If Blandford cancels a program due to severe weather, you will have two options: transfer your registration to the reschedule date or donate your registration fee. In the event we are unable to reschedule the program, full refunds will be available. All community programs will have a registrant minimum. If the minimum is not met, you will be contacted by Blandford Nature Center and notified of your refund options.
