SOLD OUT | Mindful Snowshoeing at the Highlands with LCWM (F)
Join the Land Conservancy of West Michigan and Blandford Nature Center for a mindfulness snowshoe walk at The Highlands. Blandford Nature Center’s Herbalist & Master Naturalist, Camilla Voelker, will lead us in incorporating mindfulness with the gentle recreation of snowshoeing while we explore the preserve at dusk.
Snowshoes are limited, and are sized based on weight – please choose the appropriate sizes for you and your guests when selecting tickets. Please note that you must select one snowshoe size or one “bring your own snowshoe” ticket per guest.
Parking is available in The Highlands parking lot off Leonard Street.
This is an outdoor event – please come dressed for the weather! If there is no snow at the time of the event, we will hike the route instead of snowshoe. In the case of severe weather, the event may be postponed or cancelled. Registrants will be notified of any changes via email.
The trails at The Highlands are 6 feet wide, and are a mixture of mowed grass, paved walkway, and crushed stone paths. The average grade is 1-2%, with a cross slope of <2%. This event will include up to 2 miles of hiking/snowshoeing, potentially through deep snow and in cold conditions.
